Our wines
Rosé
Zweigelt
2018

Delicate hints of red fruit (raspberry, forest strawberries and sour cherry), based on spicy flavours, slightly buttery aromas, soft mouth filling texture, elegant acidity and a medium body with again fruity tones, good length and lively finish.
Only a few people might know that the family of Dr. Zweigelt, who managed to interbreed a new variety out of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent in 1921, had vineyards in Langenlois. Actually the Bründlmayer family own the former Zweigelt cellar and part of the vineyards. We make a varietal wine from Zweigelt but also blend it with other grape varieties where it contributes deep fruit and body.
Maturation
The larger amount of the Zweigelt Rosé comes from grapes harvested in a state of middle ripeness, gently pressed like white wine, a smaller part is from highest quality Zweigelt grapes where we just use the must flowing out of the press before the pressing even starts. After fermentaion in steel tank the wine undergoes partly or complete malo-lactic fermentation (depending on the year).
