“A true masterpiece”
On November 11, the new Gault&Millau Guide 2026 was presented at the Andaz Vienna.
Weingut Bründlmayer Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW Erste Lage Riesling Alte Reben 2023 was awarded 98 points as Austria's best Riesling, making it the best white wine in the Danube region this season! It is praised as a “...true masterpiece...”, “...compact, incredibly well textured, with an elegant structure, spice, minerality, and depth.” (Gault&Millau Wine Guide 2026, p. 87)
In addition to the many great reviews, we are particularly pleased that the Gault&Millau editorial team found their favorite wine for the Kamptal in our Ried Steinberg Chardonnay 2023!
Bründlmayer Blanc de Noirs 2016 Extra Brut Sekt Austria Reserve also achieved a top rating of 96 points – on a par with the Sparkling Wine of the Year (congratulations to Michi Malat!). Together with the Bründlmayer Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Sekt Austria Reserve, there are now two Bründlmayer sparkling wines in the top 10!
