Wine Diary
Ein langer Winter…
February 20, 2026
This long winter is doing the vines’ regeneration a lot of good! Once again, we’ve received a significant amount of snow. Temperatures are still dropping well below freezing.
The precipitation (winter moisture) is a blessing for our vineyards! When it gets warmer again, the snow melts slowly, giving the soil time to absorb the moisture.
In addition, during a long, cold winter certain insects are naturally reduced, such as the invasive spotted wing drosophila.
