“A beacon for wine lovers”

In the recently published Vinaria Wine Guide 2026/27, the Bründlmayer Winery has once again been awarded 5 out of 5 stars. This highest accolade is awarded to a “top-class winery in Austria and internationally, which stands out even amongst the elite of domestic winemakers”. “Outstanding in many respects” is how Editor-in-Chief Peter Schleimer praises the Langenlois-based winery, “almost like a beacon for wine lovers, whose light […] reaches even the remotest corners of the world”. In terms of international reputation and renown, Bründlmayer is unrivalled in this country. Nor does there seem to be any category in which it does not excel.

‘Sparkling wines to make you fall to your knees’
The current sparkling wines are particularly highlighted as examples (…‘to make you fall to your knees’…), a ‘remarkably precise’ Chardonnay Steinberg 2024, described as a ‘milestone for the winery’, the ‘delicious’ Riesling Steinmassl 2025 is highly recommended, as is the ‘range of delicious non-alcoholic delights’, namely Bründlmayer grape juice, verjus, Grapester, Fizz Blanc and Fizz Rosé.

Tasting Notes of Vinaria’s Favorites:

2024 Zöbinger Ried Heiligenstein Riesling Alte Reben 1ÖTW
velvety, red and dark floral notes, smoky, rich fruitiness, red peach, candied pineapple, red currants, spicy; juicy fruit, full-bodied, exotic, rich in extract, deep, crisply fresh, crunchy, structured acidity, piquant, with an ever-lengthening finish.

2024 Chardonnay Reserve Ried Steinberg
smoky spice, velvety, vanilla notes, chalky undertones, dense, bright fruit, dried fruit, candied pineapple and guava, exotic; juicy, highly elegant with precise fruit, great piquancy, lively, fine bite, long.

Sekt Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Reserve
(disgorged 12/24) Rich, noble notes of maturity, a pleasant hint of oxidation, dried grapefruit and lemon zest, flowers, dried fruit, wax, a touch of juniper; on the palate, incredibly vibrant, dense, great fruit, great bite, cuts through with edge from start to finish, very long, magnificent.

2014 Sekt Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Große Reserve
(disgorged 10/24) Full-bodied nose with hints of pear, open and full, rich, almost opulent, apricots, pineapple; super juicy, delicately creamy background, lots of grapefruit, crisp, full-bodied, opening up noticeably, beautiful maturity, good extract, long.
