Bud burst 2025 - good timing
Bud burst in Kamptal took place around two weeks later than in the very early previous year. Warned by short frosty phases, the young buds waited longer in the protective wool before breaking open and stretching out towards the sun with a lot of energy. The further the budding progresses, the greater the damage to the vine can be. The risk of late frosts is very real until mid-May. However, the forecasts for the next few weeks give us hope that we will once again experience a spring without significant frost.
Despite cold spells in February, March and April, the weather in the first quarter was around 2°C warmer overall, somewhat sunnier and fortunately also rainier than the long-term average. This means that the vegetation is also developing well. The autumn sowing has really come up nicely and will make a valuable contribution to humus formation and the energy balance of the vines.
