Confusion in the vineyard
Our vineyards now burst of life! Many insects are stretching out their antennae, spreading their wings and become active to the benefit or detriment of the winegrowers.
We organic winegrowers try to protect the plants from pests in an environmentally friendly way. Predatory mites, for example, settle on the old vines or are colonised and unknowingly lend a hand to the winegrower. They effectively exterminate red spider mite, smallpox mite, curly mite, thrips and cicadas.
We have also already installed all the pheromone dispensers along the wire frames. During the mating season of the grape berry moth, these emit the moth mating attractant and confuse the males to such an extent that they usually do not find the females and reproduction largely fails.
