An old farmer’s saying, which states that frost-free weather cannot be expected until after mid-May, has once again proved true. The Ice Saints arrived with local thunderstorms and, in some neighboring areas, even hail. They also brought with them a night of frost, which fortunately passed without serious consequences for us.
However, with the change in weather finally arrived the long-awaited rain. The vines are repaying this with vigorous growth. Overall, we are still around 20–30% below the long-term average for 2026, but we might make up a few litres over the next few days. We can now relax and turn our attention outwards:
The weekend is all about VieVinum: Austria’s most renowned wine fair takes place every two years in a distinctly relaxed atmosphere within the historic setting of the Weiner Hofburg. 500 exhibitors from Austria and around the world are ready for tasting, an offering that is sure to delight our wine lovers. A large number of trade visitors from home and abroad have also announced their attendance. We look forward to many wine-loving encounters!
