The weather holds!
Rosé from Zweigelt and aromatic, light Grüner Veltliner
Some dark banks of threatening clouds have passed overhead, but only a minor shower touched Langenlois. Once again we were lucky and kept harvesting throughout the week. Two more important steps have been made: All grapes for our Zweigelt Rosé have been brought in and pressed. They already have started their ‘stormy fermentation,’ almost at the same time as a nearby delightful tank of Grüner.
The dazzling aromas of bubbling musts fill the air and inspire our hopes for a very good vintage. Basically we are equally late - or early - as in 2020. However, the last bunch of sunny days and cool nights brought us a great deal forward not only in terms of ripeness: Compared with the previous year our first samples are showing the same degree of freshness while tasting even more aromatic and multi-layered. With each marvellous harvest day our confidence keeps growing!
