Verjus Harvest: The green juice as the basis for alcohol-free enjoyment
Yesterday we gently harvested the first grapes of the 2026 vintage! From the Freiheit vineyard, we picked Grüner Veltliner, and from the Kellerweingarten, we harvested Donauriesling at exactly the right stage of ripeness for a particularly fresh, lively “verjus.”
This “green” juice, made from grapes that aren’t yet fully ripe, was already prized in ancient times as a delicate and flavorful acidulant. Today, we love it mixed with sparkling water, for example, as a zesty non-alcoholic long drink!
At Bründlmayer, verjus forms the basis for a diverse range of non-alcoholic alternatives. Combined with high-quality botanicals, it adds plenty of freshness and excitement to the Grapester, the Bründlmayer Fizz Blanc, and the Fizz Rosé.
The new vintage of our verjus will be available again in our shop starting in September.
