Our wines

Ried Heiligenstein

Riesling

2024

Kamptal DAC, Erste Lage ÖTW

Brilliant, multi-layered and fresh bouquet, featuring vineyard-peaches, white flowers and lemon (cedro) peel combined with some cool spice; on the pallet dry & fresh again, crystal clear and full of grace, featuring lemon zest and white currant with a touch of juvenile yeast, very dense and energetic at first, then full of finesse showing a long mineral & spicey finish, an excellent representant of this great Heiligenstein vintage.

The Bründlmayer family owns 12 hectares right in the centre of the Zöbinger Heiligenstein. It's not only the oldest but probably also the most interesting on our estate: the soil consists of approximately 270 Mio years old Perm desert sandstone.

This was followed by the proverbial, moody April: after a summery first half, the weather turned and a cool northerly current made for almost wintry days and nights. Late frosts in the lowlands were the logical consequence and this time led to some yield losses in the east of Langenlois, e.g. at Kammerner Lamm, while vineyards in the south and west of Langenlois, that we would normally be more concerned about, were largely spared. The cold shock seemed to have...
