Wine Diary
‚Harvest Moon‘ & Sunshine
Following a cool full moon night, we set out to pick Grüner Veltliner and Muskateller from Langenloiser Rosenhügel. Morning temperatures of 6° C would soon be tempered by the brightest sunshine, and, in the course of the day, we almost reached 20° C. If the weather holds until the weekend, we will also harvest in our top sites. However, the grapes of our most precious parcel in the heart of Zöbinger Heiligenstein, bearing our oldest vineyards, as well as those of Ried Kammerner Lamm and Ried Langenloiser Käferberg, should get one or two more cool nights to further deepen their aromatic expression.
Our cellar is pretty busy as well: while Chardonnay & Co from Ried Steinberg are still cheerfully bubbling along, our first fine red wines have been taken out of the fermentation vats, pressed and filled in 300l oak barrels for further maturation.
