Time for Lamm & Co!
A brief rain shower gives us a short break. But soon, a generous window of opportunity will open up again to harvest the last Grüner Veltliner grapes for our special “village wine” and for what is arguably the most famous Grüner vineyard in the area, “Ried Kammerner Lamm”. The quality of the thick-skinned Veltliners from this hot year is in no way compromised by the interruption.
For our special “local wine,” Grüner Veltliner grapes are sourced from four to five top vineyards around Langenlois. The resulting “Langenlois Alte Reben” represents the complex diversity of these soils, which is expressed through the blend (cuvée) in a unique balance.
The great wines from the Lamm and Käferberg vineyards, on the other hand, always display very individual characteristics, shaped by the different soils and their orientation, by the variations between vintages, and also by the winemaker’s supportive work. The end of the harvest, even if postponed once again, is just around the corner!
