This charming 2025 Grüner Veltliner from our Kamptal terraces is almost dangerously enjoyable to drink! For “A la Carte” wine director Willi Balanjuk, it ranks among the absolute classics for the 2026 season: “Light color, youthful, intense nose, grapefruit, verbena, almonds, powerful, firm structure, tight, fruity-spicy finish, good length” A la Carte, Issue 01/2023, page 143 - March 2026

Food pairing recommendation

A perfect companion to many starters such as smoked trout, ham, cold vegetables, sea food, tapas, or fresh marinated goat cheese with herbs; also very good with fish barbecue, or roasted chicken, Asian dishes if not too hot such as Dim Sum, or Wok, fine with ‘Vegan Cuisine’.

Langenlois Alte Reben Grüner Veltliner

2024

Kamptal DAC

Youthful bouquet, fresh, pleasantly fruity and yet delicate, of hay flowers, pome and stone fruit, with pink grapefruit and freshly cut citrus peel, light pepper spice with a hint of vanilla pods; fresh and dry with juicy fruit (freshly cut apples and citrus fruits) and many nuances, delicate melting with a dense structure, with a pleasantly long, spicy, even salty finish.

Food pairing recommendation

Pairs perfectly with classic Austrian dishes such as Tafelspitz and Backfleisch, as well as a variety of fish dishes, vegetable gratins, and the diverse flavors of Asian cuisine. A true all-rounder that becomes even more versatile as it begins to mature.

1ÖTW Erste Lage Kamptal DAC

Brilliant right from the beginning: fine floral fragrance combined with ripe aromas of nectarine & yellow peach; asparagus-like spice also plays into the great complexity. Powerful & concentrated, the bright fruit nuances return redoubled, characterised by elegance & cool freshness, gets right down to work on the palate, good persistent length & cellaring potential.

Food pairing recommendation

The Veltliner grapes for the "Kamptal DAC Reserve" style show such versatility, fitting to, for example, a range of exotic foods such as curries and wok dishes. Also ideal are typical Austrian specialties like roast pork, duck or liver, and baked dishes as well. As the wine matures, the range of possibilities grows generously. Cheese, casseroles and strong fish dishes are other fine matches.
